I had trouble chipping onto the green. I had X chips where I was putting afterward and Y chips where i was just off the green. (LOL didn’t do the math)

16 holes requiring chips

Good chips 9 + 2 GIR

Hole 3 – 2 putt

Hole 5 – to 4 feet

Hole 6 – to 3 feet

Hole 8 – to 17 feet but downhill over a tree

Hole 9 to 13 feet from 45 yards

Hole 10 – 16 yard putt to 2 feet

Hole 15 2 putts

Hole 16 2 putts

Hole 18 to 18 feet from 41 yards

Chip missed green (lol 9 but minus 2 up above)

Hole 1 – 6 yard carry

Hole 4 – 20 yard carry

Hole 5 – 10 yard carry

Hole 6 – 10 yard carry

Hole 7 – 25 yard carry

Hole 12 – 15 yard carry

Hole 13 (2x) – 15 yard carry

Hole 14 (2x) – 10 yard carry

Hole 17 – 15 yard carry

Bad Chip Putts – but some of them were because i didn’t trust my putting

Hole 4 15 yards to 10 feet

Hole 6 Putt to 9 feet

Hole 12 16 yards to 15 feet

Hole 14 10 yards to 7 feet

Hole 17 7 yards to 10 feet short

On Monday, I had 51 of 85 strokes with the flat stick or 60%. On Sunday, I hit 42 of 76 with the flat stick, or 55% of shots. I’d like to get that down to 36 shots, total, with the putter on every round.

I could have gotten there with, well:

Hole 1

Hole 5

Hole 6

Hole 14

Hole 12

Hole 17

3 better 10 yard chips and 3 better chip putts.

So that’s a new goal: 36 strokes with putter is the goal!

My notes on this one are brief because I was playing with my friend Kiv, who brought his son L. I brought my daughter P, and it was a fun time if a little hectic. L is 3 and thinks he knows more than he does – and frequently tried to wander to and off precipices.

Hole 1: struggle with the 75/80 yard distance and tried to practice using my GW. I hit it good but long. Duffed the chip (not sure why but really duffed it) and then missed the putt but made it coming back for a bogey from 6 feet!

Hole 2: teed up a little high on a shorter hole and it went 80 yards… Good putt but to 4 feet and then I missed the 4 footer. Ugh.

Hole 3: a top up the fairway. Good putt chip close and in.

Hole 4: thin shot long. This further clarifies that my GW goes 80 to 100 for the most part. I then missed my longer chip/pitch, for which I used my 60 since i needed it not to roll out. And instead it was short. Missed the putt long since it was downhill.

Hole 5: another top and then a skulled chip. Good putt decently closed and missed against from 4 feet.

Hole 6: thin pull at the tree left (arccos had it backwards). Skull chip from the rough. Long putt up that was real tough.

Hole 7: hit it probably 105 right into the water hazard long of the green. So the final distance was like 15 yards long.

I had to hit over the creek and ended up hitting it about half the distance i needed the shot to go. Next shot was good, to 3 feet.

Hole 8: Back over the water and I hit it super duper long with my gap wedge. Apparently I only hit it 90 yards … but i wasn’t sure about that. This was maybe my best shot of the round for shot 2: a flop shot, down hill, running away from me, over a tree. Hit it onto the green just 5 yards from the hole. Considering the difficulty, I was very happy. 2 putt for a bogey.

Hole 9: PW topped into the hazard and then bounced out. Great LW pitch shot to the green to just about 15 feet. Lipped out the 15 footer and then made the 6 foot comebacker for a bogey.

Hole 10: PW up the hill but it was short. Arccos recommended 9 iron which woulda been better – i think the uphill caused me to stop. Long uphill putt chip to 2 feet and I promptly missed the 2 footer. Ugh.

Hole 11: Hit down and hit about 50% for a great gap wedge to 12 feet. 2 putt par.

Hole 12: I apparently blasted my tee shot to 114 yards (i think it hit the green and ran off). Skulled the LW over the green and then a challenging putt chip on from the rough/fringe. 15 foot 2 putt with a 4 footer.

Hole 13: shanked into the fence right. Really tight lie which meant my recovery shot blasted way long. Another skull chip and then a chip back on and close to 6 feet for a 2 putt.

Hole 14: Pulled the PW left into a tree and down. 60y pitch shot ran off the green. Fluffed the chip and then putted on to 7 feet. Then made the 7 footer.

Hole 15: half PW to the front of the green and then it rolled back off the front. Good chip putt that almost went in.

Hole 16: half LW to the front that rolled off. 13 putt chip that ran out way right. 6 footer for par.

Hole 17: pulled my half PW and hit it very left. SW chip that ran off the front. Terrible putt chip to 10 feet and then a 2 putt.

Hole 18: Another pulled 9 iron into the trees left. Great SW pitch to the green to 18 feet. Great 2 putt.
